My First Tree! (A Giveaway $50 Home Depot Gift Card)

“I decorated!” I told my friend Sonia. The silence over the phone told me she was either very surprised or the phone call had dropped.
“What?!?”
“Yes, I know.”
Sonia and I go way back and in the eleven years we’ve known each other I have never – ever- ever decorated my house.

This year was different, I could see Ariel’s excitement when the neighboring houses started to light up – so I decided to gift him and our house a little love. This brilliant idea of mine coincided with a recent trip to the Home Depot where Abraham and Ariel were headed for a Papi & Son day trip. So while they looked at wood and carving tools I picked out gifts for our house: our first Christmas tree, hanging decorations, lights.

There were so many too choose from that I had a hard time selecting what I wanted but selected the decorations I thought would be perfect for what I had in mind. The little tree in a pot was perfect to place outside and took care of my worries about how the dogs would react if I put a tree inside the house. Best part? It is pre-lit AND I will be able to use it next year.

I turned on the lights before picking Ariel up from school and waited for it to be a bit dark before we returned home. When he saw the house he was all smiles from ear to ear! “A Christmas tree! I love it. A Christmas tree is so much fun!” he kept saying.
